A university in Tianjin, northern China has opened a special course to teach students about romantic relationships, according to China News Network.

Tianjin University is set to introduce the elective course “Basic Theory and Experience of Love” in the upcoming spring semester, promising to teach students both theories about romance and practical dating skills.

Those who are able to put what they learn in class to use and find good dating partners could be given full scores, an instructor of the course told the mainland news website.

The course was organised by a student group which hosted dating events before, China News Network said. Theories to be taught in the course include “the psychology of love” and “the economics of love.”

Classes will focus on discussions and practices including “chances to talk to the opposite sex,” the report said.
