The China Motor Bus enters its final day of service on Wednesday after more than 90 years on the road.
Established in 1924, the China Motor Bus was once the only bus company operating on Hong Kong Island. Its franchise on all bus routes ended in 1998 after complaints of frequent delays and poor service. The only route the company has been operating since is a non-franchised route running in North Point.
The last non-franchised bus services of the company, which runs between Island Place and the North Point Government Offices during lunchtimes, will terminate on Wednesday.
Many bus-lovers in Hong Kong came to take pictures before this historical bus company ceases its service after more than nine decades.
Police were even present to control the enthusiastic crowd of “bus spotters.”
The company currently focuses its business on the property market in Hong Kong.
