It came following public outrage over viral footage of an Asian American man dragged off an overbooked United Airlines flight.

Mok, the IT sector lawmaker, took to Facebook on Tuesday night in protest. He uploaded a 15-second video of him slowly cutting his United Mileage Plus card into pieces.

Some commentators praised his act: “Well done!”

But some of the commentators said otherwise: “You don’t need to show your membership card when boarding now, you can just enter your membership number during online check-in.”

“Why do you mimic mainlanders who cut their [Hong Kong travel] permits? What good does it do?” another said.
