Barcelona’s long-running music and arts festival Sónar is coming to Hong Kong on April 1.
DJ Shadow, Gilles Peterson and Dave Clarke will be among those playing across the festival’s six indoor and outdoor stages at Sha Tin’s Science Park.
“A true innovator, DJ Shadow (US) made his name blending everything from hip-hop, funk and soul to rock, ambient and jazz on Endtroducing….., his seminal 1996 debut album. The acclaimed DJ and producer, who released his latest LP last year, is bringing his incredible full visual show to Hong Kong for the first time.”
Emerging talent such as Lady Leshurr, Kingdom and Evian Christ will also be performing.
“Spanning the spectrum of electronic genres, Sónar’s expertly curated music programme features a diverse blend of established and emerging live acts and DJs encompassing the best in international, regional and local talent. With multiple stages to choose from, festivalgoers can enjoy a diverse range of live experiences, from large-scale outdoor spectacles to intimate indoor performances and immersive audio-visual shows.”
Set against the Tolo Harbour in Tai Po, Sónar is putting on transport links to make the site as accessible as possible.
The Sónar+D programme will include a series of creative tech-centred activities such as talks, workshops, an interactive virtual reality experience and new media arts performances and installations.
